Following the Footsteps of the Nyagru

operational

From the Forest — Back to the People

On the final descent, we emerged near Wang Ai Pho village. Rangers went their separate ways; before parting, we laid our drawings together — all of us walked the same forest, yet each carried a different story. Nature is one, but it touches everyone uniquely.

Before entering the village, we paid respects at the local shrine. Then the village appeared — clean, simple, peaceful.
A small shop stood at the junction; children laughed home from school, grinning toothy grins — the warmest welcome of all.

What Is This Journey?

We have come to see: **this was never a sightseeing trip.** It was a pilgrimage to remember how humans once belonged to nature — how one community learned to live with the forest, how we may enter nature with reverence, and how to carry that lesson back into the wider world.

The Nyagru teach us: the forest is not a resource to be used. It is a home to countless lives. A teacher speaking through the seasons. A kitchen, a classroom without walls — and a place where we remember how small we truly are.

To the Forest’s Soul

We walk in on two feet — but we hope to return with
a changed heart.

To see the forest not as a place — but as a living being.
To see nature not as something to use — but as someone to live beside.
To stop asking “What can the forest give us?” — and begin asking “What can we give back?”

This is what “To the Forest’s Soul” means — reclaiming the ancient bond between humanity and the natural world. Through trees, through people, through stories, food, faith, wind, and breath — we remember how to be at home on this earth once again.

Perhaps calling the forest’s soul is not for the trees at all — but to awaken our own.

About the Content of This Article

This article was inspired by Yuki, a Japanese woman, and is based on the teachings she shared over three years through the Forest Ceremony, particularly her reflections on “The Connection Between the Forest and Humanity.”

During the Forest Ceremony “Forest Blessing,” Yuki personally experienced and received messages of blessing directly from the forest.

                                                               ・ ・ ・

Today, we carry out two forms of activities:

◎ Camping and Walking through the Paths of the Forest “Soul Cure Quest”
Camping and walking along the paths of the forest, in search of healing for the soul.

◎ Forest Ceremony “Forest Blessing”
A ceremony in the forest, created as a way to receive blessings and messages from nature.

Today, we carry out these activities under the name “Soul Cure (Su Khwan)”, with Chaiyaphum Province as our main area of activity.

                                                               ・ ・ ・

We invite everyone to come and listen to the messages of the forest, and to walk together with the forest.
